Selecting the right version:
NetCDF has been built with three different compilers, Intel-8.1, PGI-5.2, and GCC. Select the appropriate Softenv based on the compiler that you are using. The short keyword +netcdf points at the PGI compilers, because it's the most popular compiler for users of NetCDF. Links to online documentation:

Together, the interface, libraries, and format support the creation, access, and sharing of scientific data.
