LCRC Users,
In order to install a new breaker panel in the building 240 data center, electric power needs to be taken down for a subsection of the data center – unfortunately that section comprises the bulk of the computers in the room including LCRC resources (Blues). The outage will occur on Monday, March 6th 2017 and is expected to be from 9AM until 3PM on that day. We’ll start the process of taking down Blues a couple of hours before this time.
In addition, we’ll be performing our monthly maintenance on this day as well in order to avoid another day of downtime. We’ll try to keep this as short as possible. Some of this work will include upgrading GPFS on both server and client nodes. This work is necessary before the arrival of Bebop.
We’re hoping to have Blues back up later that evening.
